drop it out

The winter is right around the corner up here. My plan is to rewire the car. I also want to drop the engine and trans out to clean up a bunch of stuff under the hood. My question to you is how have you dropped the engine and trans from underneath the car WITHOUT access to a car lift? Thanks

got a cherry picker to raise the car up for a bottom eng/trans/kmember dropout? EDIT Not sure what you would want under it to slide it all out as I ain't never done it that way before, a good creeper or two up front under the pan maybe & for sure a good heavy duty hyd jack to manage the trans ext housing
