Did these things use an external pump so the trans was hydraulicly engauged before engauging the clutch, or did the clutch drive the pump?

Both ways were used.The early cars used a power steering pump and later units had a 3 finger tang to drive the front pump.
I'm doin one right now and looking for any info. Trying figure out which billet drum will work cause it's the early 62-5 t flite. Mike

Mike, you need a website! I'm sure you're too busy, but I'm also sure a ton of us would love to see some more of your work.
