Rocker Options for BB Trick Flow Heads - 09/02/16 08:17 PM

I tried searching, can't remember, but someone recommended either Hughes or Mancini rockers. Any advice?

I used Crane Gold's on mine and they worked just fine. Here's a pic.

I started going through the 72 pages, was hoping someone would remember. I think it is Mancini that is selling the HS copies?

All depends on how much money you want to spend and how much power you think you'll make. Also depends on the type of camshaft.

I just spent two days on the dyno testing RAS, MRE, Harland and T&D rocker arms on my 470 engine which has Trick Flow heads.

Do the MRE rockers have a decent scrub pattern?
Are there any other rockers in that price point that would be a good application for a street/strip engine with a 620ish lift FT cam in a 1.6 ratio?

I have been using these Hughes 1.6 ratio roller tip rockers in my 440/493 since 2011. They are Manton pushrods and they have been holding up great on my street/strip car. Ron

The MRE rockers will work just fine with a .620 lift flat tappet. I know where you can buy a slightly used set of those rockers.

I'm interested.

Not to thread-jack, but... I have had a set of the old comp gold rockers on my current 493 with a small solid flat tappet. I am looking to upgrade the cam when I swap on the Trick Flows, and would like to go roller, but I am not sure about the rockers being able to deal with the increased spring pressures. Any real world feedback on how much pressure the Cranes can take, or if they'd last with a street roller.

The Crane rockers will work with a street roller for a while. Don't know how long "a while" is, could be several years depending on how hard you beat on it and how much spring force you have. They'll fit and work on the TF heads with decent geometry. I checked them on my heads up past 0.700 lift and they were fine.
