Comp XE262 - 07/06/16 02:25 PM

For those using an XE262 in a small block..how does it perform?
Looking at Comp's website it appears to be within 10 hp of the XE268 with more torgue and may be a better street cam?
..has anyone found the smaller XE cams noisy? (256,262)

Good thinking. Check the XE256, it is also surprisingly comparable. I don't know about noise, but it has been reported that the Lunati Voodoo cams are quieter in general. And don't forget Hughes, they have really fast lobes.

What size engine? A 318 needs less cam than a 360, heads being equal.

For comparison we have a XE 268 on our 318. It's a dog out the hole with 3.23 gears but comes alive at 3000rpm. It's OK on the street, Idles at 800-700 in gear we have gone 14.48 @ 98 in full street trim @ 3550lb.

I'm about to install the XE256 in a 360 built for daily usage.
Been trying to come up with good excuses to get a bigger cam but common sense kept me coming back to this one.

my thoughts exactly.Stock 340's were strong on the street. The 256 should be an excellent street cam as i'm thinking the 262 should be as well.I've used the XE268 and the power was good but despite what comp says my warm 340 needed a converter with the XE268 and 3.23 gears.
o.k...let's hear from the guys using these 2 cams
