Monster mopar weekend at Norwalk

My buddy and I are going to make the trip from Northern NY to Ohio in July for the Monster Mopar Weekend and was wondering if anyone else from our part of the country was also making the trip? Went out there in 13' and had a great time. Met some really good guys and also met a guy who use to race with me back here in the 80's. I live in the North eastern part of New York. Maybe could start a caravan from Vermont, New York, Northern New England or Southern Quebec. Any takers?

I will miss it yet again as it is the same weekend as the NMCA race in Chicago....Ugh, maybe someday

Looking forward to hooking up with you again Doug! Do you hear anything from Tom? He gave me a update on the Road Runner last year after his move out west.

So go to Norwalk and not the NMCA race.

Tom is currently living in Texas. Don't think he will make it up this year, I believe he might be moving back to Louisville at some point. Hopefully he can attend in the future. Trying to find out if Ron and the rest of the Canadian guys will be there. Hopefully.

Lots. There is plenty of room on the car show side. Very nice over there and lots of open space every year I have been.

I will be there running in n/ss with my 65 coronet street car again. yes that's right my new car the 64 330 will not be there. I'm still licking my wounds from the intake explosion and fire damage. yet another 440-25 intake strikes again. I hope the car count is not too down in n/ss due to the nmca race. see ya there.

Sorry to hear about the intake explosion. I had that happen to me TWICE!!!!! So I know what they can do but have to admit it's a good intake as long as you have blow off valves and are careful.

I to had one pop before I figured out how to start it. Cold, pump 3 times then let it sit 30-45 seconds. One more pump, throttle partially open and crank with ignition on. It'll start in less than 2 revolutions. Warm needs only 1 pump and sit 15-20 seconds, no 2nd pump before the same crank procedure. Real cold needs a fender cover thrown over the carbs along with the cold procedure.

Family plans for the weekend only allows me to be able to do Sunday from Columbus it's like 2hrs so hopefully 2 time trials would be great

I don't think I ever remember two time runs on a Sunday morning at this event. But at my age, maybe there was such an instance at some point.

At the big money weekend races you hardly ever get one on Sunday. New entries that didn't race earlier in the weekend get one.

We have done 2, but more often then not we are chasing sunshine... so we scale back to one on Sunday

I think moving the event to the end of July was a great idea, Josh. Kudo's to you.
That second week in Sept is often about the time the weather begins to transition in these parts, and rain is often the result.

I hope the weather makes a better event for everyone.

Yup, the Cutter is on the Wednesday before the cruise and the Roadkill event is on Friday. We've got lots of stuff going on that week so we have to pick one event or the other.
