why not factory rollers?
late model trucks with the 5.2s and 5.9s had roller lifters stock.

stock roller lifters won't work in older blocks.
contact board member OU812. he has some nice ones from comp cams that aren't in their catalog yet.

I believe the ones Brian (ou812) sells are retrofit solid roller lifters? His are nice because the link bar is toward the center of the engine so no grinding on the block needed.

Contact Best Machine they can hook you up with the correct part from Comp, and yes they are not in the the comp catalog yet

you will have to grind on the lock a little. but i used a comp solid body roller lifter no bushing no bs i ran it for 2 years no problems. if you want i can get you part numbers for the lifters i used

The lifters he's referring to, have the link bar to the
inside.......away from the block.I doubt if they require
clearancing at all. Uncovering the oil galley, is a whole
different problem. Running smaller lift lobes with higher
rockers would remedy this but, high ratio rocker arms for
SB Mopars is big $$$$. The last 2 blocks I had bushed
cost me $511.00 apiece.

the tie bar goes torwards the head and you do have to grind. if you put the tie bar on torwards the inside of the block it will hit the push rod. i ran .673 lift cam with a 1.6 rocker no problems no need to bush the block. unless you go nuts with the lift it should not uncover the oil passage.

The amount of lobe lift you can run depends on where the oil
galley intersects the lifter bores, base circle of the cam and
style of lifter.
Galley to lifter bore varies greatly, block to block so xxx lobe
lift with xxx lifter is not going to consistantly work on every
block. Like most fun things about building engines.......you
have to check first.

The 828-16s are the old number. I dont think they superceded. Check with Brian, he actually helped them deveolp them as I understand it. In any event, I don't run a solid roller lifter without bushings. Ever.

My 828-16s opened the oil passage with my cam which is .430 cam lift. It wasn't just barely either it opened them up alot. Block is getting tubed at the machine shop right now.
I love putting motors together then taking them back apart

Those are what I run as well. $219.00 a set and no grinding and no bushing or tubing. Just drop them in with the link bar toward the sides of the of the lifter valley (backwards) and thats it. Ive been running mine on the street and at the track on a car that runs 10.30's on motor and 9.20's on spray with no issues. Good products.

I think they recently jumped to about 265 at Doug Herbert, IIRC.
I think Chet Herbert still has them listed at $218.
