GA, JL trading between the top two is getting old already.

Good to see Erica Enders & the Elite Motorsports Dart stepping up their game.

I find myself not even looking anymore as I have just lost alot of interest in that class now also. Dont even watch it lately as I would rather go to local track and watch Nostalgia Super Stock cars. Ron

Are pro mods on the broadcast yet or nhra still too blind to see?

My thought, too.

I did catch the last round of qualifying last night, but only because it was shown right after the penultimate round of the AMA Supercross Series. Not sure I would have even bothered if my a$$ wasn't already in the LazyBoy and the TV on the same channel.

Only the crash from Friday's (?) qualifying session. Other than that, not a word.

I'm guessing the NHRA is deaf & dumb, as well as blind, w/ respect to Pro Mod.

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/01/16 06:43 PM

I've been watching and recording Pro Mod during the week. Fox is also showing sportsmen later in the week. I watched qualifying Friday and Saturday evening so I'm liking it much better that the old ESPN coverage.

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/01/16 07:45 PM

I guess the new Pro Stock rule changes didn't do anything for the car count and if the Elite and Summit teams dropped out they would be lucky to fill an 8 car field. Sad to see.

Those changes cost money. Goydish (sp?) was just on another site saying he did everything himself and spent $40k. That's a big chunk of a little guy's budget.

The fuel injection cost teams money and will do so till they learn it. The rpm limits will be a bigger savings

Pro Stock is Slow Mod,

When are the powers in Glendale going to wake up.

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/02/16 04:01 AM

They ruined pro stock this year... I have no desire to watch the NHRA at all anymore. The fields were so much closer last year and meant for good racing.

The nostalgia thing here is more fun too, although there are no nostalgia super stock cars.

Oh wait...you guys aren't drinking the kool aid! Remember, NHRA made these changes to increase spectator interest. You must have missed that...lol!

I would rather watch Pro Mod...at least there is a chance something other than a Camaro will win

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/02/16 12:42 PM

I'm not surprised, the better funded teams were always going to be out front early on. Elite are trying to get their heads around a new engine platform, along with EFI.
Sad to say it, the changes may be too little, too late.

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/02/16 03:09 PM

I still like to watch and will no matter the changes. Apparently the KB team put in more work on the EFI than other teams.

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/02/16 04:47 PM

KB team is based in Mooresville, NC which is the central nervous system for both NASCAR and the American F1 teams, GA and JL are tapped into a huge resource/technology pool that benefits them tremendously.

my good friend has his shop within about 500' of theirs, it's right next to Mooresville 1/8th mile Dragway where the KB boys routinely rent the track for testing.

Re: Texas Pro Stock - 05/02/16 08:06 PM

Mooresville is owned by Anderson's father-in-law, they're "connected".

KB also has Bo Butner working on their efi.

It's good to be them.
