B&M 174 blower on a 408 stroker? - 03/30/16 08:57 PM

I'm wondering if it is worth the trouble.. I have a 408 that is fresh not assembled has steel crank and kb pistons ( not forged ). From previous experience it should come out around 9.5 comp with the heads I'm using .

This combination made about 450hp without the blower . I'm wondering if I can get past 500 with the little blower. I have it already with all the parts to install it . I'm going to put it in a 76 duster with a 904 9.5 converter 4:10's and rip around town in it and what I'm really looking for is some numbers on the mobile chassis dyno.

The cast pistons are a worry I can always add race gas for the dyno runs!

Depending on the pulley size it should be a riot. Doing the math a 174 blower with a 2:1 ratio should produce around 7psi on a 408. If you add the 7psi to 450hp using Wallace racing calculators you should be well over 600hp... Probably happy numbers but it will def. be over 500hp. What pulley setup do you have?

I think you'd be well over 500 w/ a mild amount of boost. You can also toss those 4.10's and drop to 3.55's
