Anyone here running MT Pro Bracket Radials ?

Anyone here running these ?
Specifically 28x9R15 or 28x10.5R15
I need some new tyres and the Hoosier radial I run is out of stock
I only have 8 or 8 1/2" rear rims so it would seem the 28x9 is my only choice in the MT
Will the 28x9 be enough for my Satellite ?
I do not want to buy and find a poor result as they are $364.00 each here

Im running the 28x9x15 radials, no et or speed difference from the m/t bias ply of the same size on my small block dart. 7.20 1/8 mile car

how do you find traction ? what weight ?

Bump. Anybody else? I am also looking 29.5x10.5. My car is 3900# ladder bar with 850-900HP I have always run bias slicks.

There is a guy running some done here with a transbrake used Nova that runs 6.40's. I've asked him about them and he loves them so far. Needs very little burnout and is more forgiving than the tradition radial. Lasts longer too.

I run them on my radial/ outlaw 275 car. Been 1.12 60' and lots of 1.13- 1.15. Some guys have been alot faster than that on them. They are easier to make work than a real drag radial but are by no means a slick. Still got to have a good shock and car set up. Have about 50 passes on them in the 4 sec zone still working great so imagine they would be long lasting on a bracket car.

Are you sure you're not referencing of the "275 ET Street Radial Pro"? The OP is referencing the new "Pro-Bracket Radial", which is a true Radial construction Drag Slick, and is probably not legal for a an "outlaw 275" class(??).

They are legal in most of the heads up classes. ET Street Radial, Pro Bracket Radial and the Pro drag radial.

The Pro Bracket Radial is allowed in many classes that radials and slicks are both allowed.........So SD knows what tire he has.

They are NOTHING like a bias slick, but are more forgiving than true drag radials. You can't just toss them on and expect to treat them like a slick, or hit them like a slick.............But they are a bad azz tire. Many have had them on Outlaw Radial cars at recent races and I know Jeff Sitton went a .998 60ft on them at SGMP

These are NOT the same tire construction as the ET Drag Radial slick

I've just fitted them, first run on sun spun bad 1.77 with 20 psi, 2nd run tried 18psi went 1.40. Conditions weren't great, track was cold later when the sun went in.

talked to MT this morning , you can use the 28x10.5 on a narrower rim without too much disadvantage . Also talked to Centreline about custom backspace on their wheel I run , that is doable at no extra charge .
I am leery of running the 9" tyre , especially with a bigger motor under way .
I have only ever run radials , ET street radial , Radial Pro 275 ( poor result) and the last couple of years the Hoosier 275 radial slick with good success .
I also tried a Hoosier 9x30(29.9 tall) but the car wouldn't pull the last 100' or so , only 4.1 gear
the possible extra life would be a bonus

I have the 28/9 on my car but this is a fresh build and a low horsepower car so I can't really give you an opinion.
I hook and so far Ive had a 1.69 60' but again it's just a 12 second car that's only been to the track two times this year

Got a set of the 28x9 PBR mounted on 15x7 wheels.
3.54 gear
3,950 Coronet
Autozone gas shocks, front rear & sway bars

*****also, I had to lower the front suspension 3/8", I suspect that hitting them too hard, too soon without quality shocks will also cause some spinning............if I had a quality double adjustable shock on the corners I think I could have left the ride height alone****

Lowest 60 foot so far is 1.63
Bracket race the car... had 3 or 4 runs that had a 330 time of 4.71......bunch of 1.64 and one 1.65 sixty

They do need enough of a burnout to see smoke coming from the tires. However, excessive burnout is no where necessary! Six seconds max. Engine RPM in the box above 4,000

16 pounds would spin a touch...sidewall wrinkle
17.5 pounds spin almost gone...less wrinkle
18 pounds no spin...virtually no wrinkle

7.30, 7.31, 7.32, 7.31 on one day
11.67, 11.67, 11.68, 11.67 on another day

If the dummy behind the wheel was a seasoned bracket racer the car would be in more semi's.

Yeah that is the tire. For me they work better on a descent track. I keep a set of 3754x in the trailer for when we are at an awesome surface cause they are faster than bracket radials. I keep a set of 28x10.5 stiff walls too for a junk track.

69 dart 3000lbs car. I have the calvert suspension all around run 17-18 psi, works good i dont have issue with spin i try to do a smaller burnout. I have 140 passes on them and they are working good last race out sixty foots were 1.613 to .604 the 604 being the last pass on a cooler dark track.

I tested last Saturday . Sixties were 1.52-1.55 .No different to the Hoosier 275 , very happy . I was only doing a light burnout , I think it needs a bit more . No real pickup on the tyre on return road .
Definitely more stable with air pressure , picked up less pressure gain after driving to staging lanes and after a pass .
I used a 8 1/2" rim which gave a 9-9 1/2" contact patch . Still showed marking on the edge . I have ordered 10" rims .

I have been thinking about this tire, but not being "street legal", I am wary about driving it around.

I currently run the 315 ET DR on a 12" rim. And the rim size would be my concern on the 10.5 PRO.

The pro Bracket Radial is a full slick , no grooves at all .
I understand the use of a 12" rim is common . I would suggest asking Jason Moulon on Yellowbullet . He is the MT rep and has been very helpful to me .

If you are asking if your 12" wheel is too wide.......the answer is NO. Most of the drag radial "hitters" run that tire AND the 315 on 14" wheels, so the 12s will be just fine. That's what we run, but only because 14s won't fit under the car

I have a set of the Pro's for sale with 12 passes on them for real cheap if anyone is interested. 31.25-12.2R15W

I run the 275-60-15 Pro Drag radial on my car, it should fit that 8in rim with a little bulge.

I run them on 15x10, with 22 psi in them i have been a 1.42 60ft, best et so far of 6.52.

Just something else to think about, plus they are much cheaper around $228.00 a tire.

I've been running the standard 28/10.5 on my wife's barracuda with great results but I'm thinking about trying the 28/10.5 bracket radials this year. The MT rep said I will be very happy with them and are way more forgiving than the traditional radial slicks.

I had the same issue. The 275 Pros shook bad on the street like they were out of balance something terrible. Didn't notice it at the track. They are a good working tire, but I've never had a problem like that w/ any other tires and I never balance my rears.

I am on my second set of 275 pro's and haven't had a vibration issue. I also like you don't balance my rear tires. Never shakes at track or street driving.

The bracket radials are more forgiving on a marginal track and have a longer life.

Yea I do not balance my rears either, I haven't driven much on the street maybe 100 miles or so but no shaking at the track.

Good to know though in case something ever comes up.

they were so bad , pro 275, I thought something was coming off the car - probably a wheel .like you I never balancing the rears . the pro275 needed something close to 200grams to get close . MT were good and took them back as faulty . with the pro bracket I barely have 28 grams to balance ( 1 ounce). I only balanced these to get a comparison . have never balanced or checked the hoosier radial .
hoosiers are very forgiving , I hope I can get a bit more life with the MT though . also hoping the new 10" rim I ordered will help the lifespan

My car is mini tubbed with a strange 9in, I believe the rear is 4 in narrower than stock. It also has inboard leaf springs and the wheels are 15x10 weldstars with 4.5 in backspacing.

I’ve now got about 25 or 30 passes on my 28x9 ProBracket Radials. I’m very happy with the performance. They were worth about a .05 over the ET Drags I was using prior. I’m finding they work best for me down around 18psi. Longevity is still to be seen, but the car has been a copy machine with them thus far.

I have a set with 100 or so passes on them and even some street miles, they look brand new and have worked great. I have only had a few runs with spin on very marginal tracks.

The balance is fantastic on them and i have fought them moving on the rims some. I am going to put some glue on them and see how that holds up.

I ran both the Pro Bracket Radials 29x 10.5 -15 and the Pro Et Street radials 315x55-15. I switch to the Pro ET Street radial to enter events where Dot tires are required, My car weighs around 3500 pounds with driver and has run 9.8s ..1.42 60 ft times. We dialed it back to 10.1.We have Caltracs with Viking Rear shocks set a C 14 R 8. I have some traction problems with the Single adjustable shocks, but after switching to the dual adjustable no more problems. On my car I saw no difference between the Pro Bracket Radial and the Pro Et Street radials faster cars might, but I didn’t. Love them just bought a new set, it’s a Street/ Strip car with a 512, foot braking. It’s a 69 Dart.

I'm running these on my wagon around 4000-4100lbs. Runs a best of 7.02 in the 1/8. I found very consistent 60' times once I got used to what they liked for a burn out. For my very short, little smoke worked best. My 60's are usually 1.53 with these.

Oh my wagon uses 8" rims and 20 psi wks best.

Though now have the 29.5 x10.5
Only drawback is i have to deflate them to fit both in the boot with all my other stuff . Never needed to with the 28s
