AMD B/RB valve covers don't fit

Has anyone else purchased the Auto Metal Direct (AMD) B/RB valve covers? I did. Prepped them and painted them before making sure they fit. Now the base won'd fit on the 452 heads I'm using. Tried them on a set of Source Stealth Heads too. They don't fit there either. I'm curious if anyone else has had the same issues. Tom

i've heard this before. is it the bolt holes don't line up or something else?

How long have you had them , I remember seeing that when they originally came out they did not fit , they made changes and now they are supposed to fit.

Exactly what I heard. The early ones had problems with holes lining up. I purchased the valve covers 4 months ago from Summit. Fit like a glove. First thing I did to make sure I did not get an early set was just put the gasket on it. Gasket lined up perfect. So you may have gotten an early set. Where did you get them? Its possible you can return them. Even though you painted them, they would have not fit anyway. You may be able to contact AMD for exchange. Although last I heard they were on back order at the time I ordered them. Just happened that Summit had them in stock.

Or, is it because your heads are modified due to rockers being higher than stock? That is the other issue.

Heads are not modified, other than the fact that they have roller rockers. The bolt holes do not line up. Also the flange that's supposed to lap over the gasket surface of the head doesn't clear. It basically sits on top of the head. I guess I'll try to contact AMD to see if I can get them exchanged or credited. Thank you for the responses. Good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.
