Has a lot left in it with a new stator in the converter and some more tweaks. It's coming along though as that was our shake down of the car LOL.

I could see you shifting in the video but the RPM sure wasn't changing.

I love the glovebox popping open, you should get that fixed for next year's drag week! It was great to see your dart on the livefeeds, and even better seeing an Albertan. Keep up the awesome work!

When I seen at GWMSP Sunday I thought for sure it was BBC but when I ask I was cool to hear it was a penstar under the hood.

Re: TWIN TURBO 1800+HP Dodge Dart Swinger - 09/30/15 12:09 AM

I'm running a Turbo 400 behind it with a gear vendors, I had a 727 on old combo but it could never hold the power back on the trans brake and killed clutches often. I also appreciate the ability to walk.

The part that broke was a billet steel front clutch hub from coan. Trans builder said he has only seen one other break and usually the shafts break first.

Going to tear into the trans more as some of the steels were seeing some heat, need to turn up the line pressure. The converter and trans change should put the power its making to the ground (around 2K rwhp without too much boost). Shave some good time off to where I think it should be.

I run a 3.40 9.5" Pro gear in the back with 40 spline axles.

Also need to drop the top 4 link bar one hole I'm thinking to give it a little more bite out of the hole too.

Great Facebook page during drag week! I didn't get in on the action until toward the end, but it was great to read through the trials and tribulations!

How cool is that! I love the $150 car bit. I was saying to myself 1.22 in the 60ft is pretty soft and then I see the result of applying more power on the launch: the weakest link breaks (trans in this case). Good luck to you guys and hope you get the trans issues sorted out.

Efidart if you dont mind sharing alittle info what size rear tire are you planting to the pavement? Also whats your launch rpm and boost psi,and lastly all in boost psi?

Im in the process of building a tamer version of what you guys have in the dart. Im hoping my junk will make around 1200rwhp on about 12psi. But only time will tell

Thanks in advance

Re: TWIN TURBO 1800+HP Dodge Dart Swinger - 10/01/15 08:49 AM

Thanks for the kind words, the car has always been a work in progress.
I used to run a single 118 mm turbo before with victor heads on the same shortblock, made 1550 rwhp and ran 7.90 all day with ease.

Hoping to get a 1.15-1.18 short time out of it when its turned up. I need to add more bite to the car off the line as it spins before it lifts the tires on initial hit. Usually was launching at 4800 and 4-5lbs boost and it seemed to like it there, 5000 is a little much.

Tires are 33x16-15 hoosiers, I've also ran the 33x18.50 ET streets with good results also.

All in boost didn't matter between 14-20 lbs for ET. It drove through the converter faster with 20 lbs so we just left it around 17-18 so it didn't put too much heat into the trans. Will be nice to see RPM drop and it to pickup ET and MPH when it actually starts locking up harder.
