Have you tried the Redline Oil "Shock Proof" gear oil?

The Redline shock proof oil tuned to gel and killed the ring and pinion if you like it great! For me never again.

Don't use Redline....

Pull it apart or the cover off and inspect them. They are just like any other gear, if you do not see any excessive wear or cracking then run them.

I haven't heard that about redline. How long has it been known that it's not what they say? I've been using it with my pro gear for at least 6 years. Now you've got me thinking to drain it. I might be "SHOCKED" in what I see! So what is the hot ticket for high h/p use?

I haven't had issues with the redline oil, but my car is slower.
I used the blue "lightweight" gear oil in my 8-3/4 and did not have any problems. What caused it to gel? I never herd of that problem.

I'd like to know, had Torco in it before.
Wanted to change from 4.30 to 4.56 that's when I went to the blue redline shockproof lube. The 4.56 didn't work out for throttle stop racing switched back to 4.30's when I pulled the drain plug it came out like blue tar wouldn't drain took 3 hrs to clean the housing.
May not happen to anyone else. But for me I had better things to do with my time.

I have seen it on a few different occasions.

As for what I use. Well we make ok power and we use whatever Napa sells, just that easy.

Moser told me not to use synthetic gear oil. Said 80-90 gear oil

Used Amsoil synthetic one time. Results were not good! Actually deformed the gears to the point of severe burrs on the edges of ring gear. Cleaned up the burrs and went back to the regular dino oil and those same gears were fine for a long time after that.

Only dino stuff in rears and trannies for me from now on.............
