I broke a 440 crank (forged OEM) into three pieces. #3 rod throw tried to exit the block, with # 6 rod & piston still attatched. I can't access the pictures till Monday, but it's ugly. Real ugly. The only thing salvageable below the camshaft is the swinging pick up and the drain plug.

If you can't break a stock factory crank you aren't trying hard enough.

i didnt lose any oil, and there is no mess, so I will not really know until I disassemble. On another note, I got another block (440) ready for internals.Who has the best deal on rotating, balanced assemblies?
