Modern dual plane W/W2 heads? - 06/14/15 03:42 PM

I have an old set of W2 race heads, that I'd
like to use on my rig.
Here is the combo.
A body 3600 w/me in it.
360 &.040,4 inch crank (BPE).
Mildly ported factory iron heads.
245/251 solid cam,253/255 solid on shelf.
RPM intake/750 DP.
9.5 comp./tti 1 5/8-1/3/4 step headers.
2 1/2 system to bumper W/X pipe.
TKO-600 5speed (.64 5th).
3.91,w/a set of 4.30's on the shelf.
28 inch tire.

The car is 95% street, driving in city traffic.
Doesn't get above 4500/5000 very often,plus
I have overdrive.

I've heard the horror stores about the tremic
transmission's so I try to keep the shift
point's to 6000.

Can't help but think a modern dual plane reworked
may be better for me than the M1 I have.

I've seen a couple of stories that guys have used
LA intakes and reworked them for W2 use, thoughts?

Thanks Mike

I cant say for the smallblock but use the Indy dual plane on my 63 thats a 440/493 and its a 99% street car that usually sees the track once or twice a year. But it gets a ton of street miles and I can say I really like how good the low end driveabilty is with the dual plane. And I must say I dont see many bigblock strokers around 490 to 500 cubes using a dual plane. But as for street driveabilty its great. up I do want to try a single plane one day just to see if its faster at the track. Ron
