Mallory and MSD

My race car came with a Mallory 140 electric fuel pump. It quit at the last Norwalk race in Sept. 2013. We drove to Summit, got another one and finished the weekend. I raced in 5 events in 2015. In Sept 2015, the new pump motor burned up.
I called MSD (they bought Mallory) and was told, since it was out of warranty, they were not repairing any Mallory fuel pumps. 4 1/2 races, $300+ and I'm stuck with a junk piece of crap.

I had one yrs back that kept popping fuses. I took the end cap off on the pump end and sanded it flat on the rotor side. I think the cap wasn't machined properly and the rotor was locking up. never had another problem after that.

Thanks Dave. That's what mine did. It popped the fuse and that was it. I'll try that. I was going to take it apart to see if there was anything obvious. I've got nothing to loose since MSD/Mallory won't stand behind their product. Otherwise, it's not even a good looking paper weight.
