So these all look to be copper core race plugs, in these days of mega spark ignitions are the race specific plugs really an advantage they were when the copper core was important for maximizing the relatively weak spark of older ignition systems....I'm just wondering out loud really just in term of how copper deteriorates over time. Thoughts?

I like NGK's. Ran ZFR5F in my NA motor and R5671A-9 in my blower motor. Don't know about others, but per NGK, they come with a thread coating out of the box for use with aluminum heads. Don't have to coat with anti-seize, etc. I still use a light oil on the threads.

I use 3923's in most. I back cut the ground electrode, set the gap around .035" . As far as durabilty,I pull them every month or 2 , re-gap and sharpen the electrodes, they do wear pretty quickly when making a bunch of passes.

Champion N6Y or RN6Y. $1.99 each at Oreilly Auto Parts. Run them for 1000 passes and put in new ones. Good as anything out there.

I've been using Accel 784 plugs. They take a 5/8" socket and fit my LA-X heads (Magnum type plugs) in my IHRA Dart as well as conventional Mopar small block heads which I have for a new NHRA 360 project.

I use to use N9YC and N7YC when they were easily found. But many years ago I found that the Champions seemed to rust if not run on a regular basis. I live in very humid Florida, but they didn't seem to be bad like that longer ago.
