HELP! What brand crank is this 4.15 ????

HELP! What brand crank is this 4.15 ???? - 01/06/09 12:45 AM

There are only a few small markings on this crank. Has anyone seen these before? The hard ones to read look like 3249208 to me but that might not be right, there is also a letter B stamped near the number. Thanks!!!

But they just box up others products and sell them as there own right??? I believe this one is at least 15 years old.

I bought one once from Gottch , It was still in the box and there were no numbers on it

But, I've also seen them with a brand name and a Mopar part number on it

so

if it was bought 15 years ago

It "should be" a good one

I just looked in the old Mopar Perf. catalog and is identical to the one in the picture, you can even see the numbers that are on it. I figured someone would know who made it for them

So the next question is WIW?

Not much.......look at that big ugly radius on the journals. Gonna be scraping for a long time with those. Tell you what, I'll be over in 5 minutes with a nice std cast crank that'll fit perfectly in the box, even exchange.

if it was made 15 years ago, I'm sure it was made by a quality company

We had not been invaded by the one hung low knock offs

I read many times that Callies made them then

New I think they were $1300 , any time you can get 50% of new I think thats about right

$650 - $750.00 even a crankshaft has a life cycle

If its that old it might have been a Callies, newer
ones are Scat

It wasnt all that long ago that they changed to Scat,
as a guess, about 10 years ago

No thats a good crank (should be anyway) check it out so it passes inspection , maybe stamp s ID spot on it so it does not get lost

Those were expensive rods in their day too , suppose 15 years ago they were again $1100 ?

Yeah I know J/K. Going to have it looked at this week. Its been checked already I'm told. The question on the rods is that they are 6.86 hemi rods, can you get a piston to use them in a 440 block with that crank? Machinest tells me you can rebush the small end for a different pin size.
