How Much Stall?

How Much Stall? - 11/06/14 01:55 AM

I have a 408/904 in my Aspen R/T and noticing my 60' times have been slowing down even with new slicks. I run a 8" TCS converter but when I run the play back after a run it shows it on the launch at 5400. When I had this motor on the dyno the torque was 550@4500 rpm. Should I have them tighten it up some on the stall?

My peak torque is around 5000 rpm, flash at the line is 6500+rpm. Shifts at 7100.That has been the fastest combo so far. I tried a tighter converter along with advancing the cam and the car slowed down two tenths. Not sure if it was cam or converter, But it should show itself come spring.

I pick a converter by going 1500 rpm below shift point

You need to figure out why the car is, what is actually causing the car, (not assume that the converter is ) to slow down first. I've spent a lot of time, effort and money chasing assumed gremlins , don't be that guy Figure out exactly what is going wrong before fixing or replacing something else

call Lenny at Ultimate Convertor. I replaced my 8'' TCS and switched out to Lenny's 8'' and gained everywhere. ET, MPH, and 60'.
