Based on my timeslips and weight, (3,200 w. me in it) my street machine Duster 340 with unported W2 2.08 heads, Victor intake, .557 purple cam and 750 double pumper puts out a little over 400, maybe 415-425 on a good day? Figuring for 20% driveline loss I think I'm getting around 320-325 at the wheels.

Mine idles around 1,000-1,100 rpm with about 7" of vacuum. Timing is 20 degrees initial and 36 total all in around 1,800 rpm. I shift it at 6,800 and last time I was at the track it went over 7,200 a few times. Lash is .026" intake and .028" exhaust hot.

Cranking compression is around 180 psi so I think it's around 10.5:1? Not sure, have not had the heads off. It was built by someone else before I got the car.

Could it be making more or less? I don't know. There's basically no torque off the line. It likes fuel too. It needs a better converter (currently 10" 3,800 stall) and more gear than the 4.10 that's in it now. Porting the heads would greatly help too. Probably could use a camshaft upgrade also but then I'm starting to get away from practical street territory. It's pretty high strung now as it is.

I have a non stroked 318 that has run best in my signature so far. Tiny hydraulic cam, pump gas, mild 4.10 gear. It's well thought out by the guy who built it, makes around 480 flywheel horsepower.
If I get rid of all the accessories I am driving( stock fan, water pump, power steering etc) and get it better sorted out, only been out twice with it, should run 11.50's and it's ultra street able. Can drive it anywhere.

I run 93 octane pump gas in my .060" over 340. I have a .557 DC camshaft, 10.2:1 compression with Edelbrock heads (2.02 intake, 1.60 exhaust). I run a factory steel crank with h-beam rods and TRW pistons. It is topped with an Edelbrock Torquer II and a Holley 830cfm carburetor. I have run 11.35et doing the math that is 412hp at the wheels with a 3050lb car (with me). I have run it on my company's Mustang dyno and the hp peak was 409.34hp@6200rpm. I am guessing the flywheel hp is around 470ish. I have the camshaft advanced, I leave at 3000rpm (footbrake), shift at 6400rpm and trap at around 6500rpm with 4.10 gears. I have a best 60ft of 1.50 but usually around 1.53-1.55 depending upon the track conditions.

My combo is not that much different than yours but my best so far is 12.16 @ 111. You got a couple hundred pounds on me though, need to get back on the weight loss program.

P.O. of my car went a best of 11.97 with a 4.30 gear so clearly my car needs it. It's close to where it was before the gear change but it should be at least 3-4 1/10s faster IMO. My 60 ft needs serious help at 1.7.

Bigblocka,

I run Hoosier 26"x9" slicks. They are kind of small but they fit in the stock location on 15"x7" Weld Wheels with a 4" offset.
