Get well Mr P body
(FROM MRS. PBODY)...
Well, today didn't go as we had hoped. Mike has been having some cardiac issues (occasional pain, chest tightness, etc) so I insisted he see the doctor before we go hunting. We saw a new cardiologist today (David....thanks, we really like him). We both thought they'd be arranging some tests, probably Monday and we'd go home 'til then. Well, the doctor wanted to do an angioplasty today to evaluate and possibly insert a stent(s) & sent us over to the hospital. When we got there, they noticed he has an iodine allergy and must pre-medicate with steroids before the procedure. Well.....too late in the day to do that but they did not want to send him home. So....they're keeping him at Henry Ford Macomb for the weekend and will do the procedure Monday. He's not a happy camper. I'm somewhat relieved. If the doctor feels he wants him kept there, I'd rather not have to be responsible for rushing him back there if there are problems. So....I have a quiet weekend alone & he gets to sit on his butt watching TV in the hospital. I'll take his laptop to him tomorrow so he'll have another avenue of entertainment. *sigh* (We'll gladly accept any healing energy you wish to send his way....thanks)

Thanks all. I'll be taking Mike's laptop into the hospital tomorrow so I'm SURE he'll be on here talking to y'all. He's already bored, saying he's got "stuff to do". I'm just glad he's where they can take care of any issues immediately rather than having a potential disaster trying to get him to a hospital 20 miles away.
If I had to guess based on his symptoms, I'd say he's got a narrowing of an artery and needs a stent or two to open things back up. We'll know for sure Monday when they do his angioplasty.

Hey Mike, if you get an extended stay like I did, you may get a bath from a very good looking 22 year old nurse

Thanks guys.. yesterday they were running tests so
at least I wasnt sitting around.. looks like Monday
they go inside.. sure hope they dont have to split
my chest again.... hoping for a stent or two...

Still cant believe they have to suck blood out EVERY
2 hours...damn I wont have any left for surgery..LOL

That really does suck Mike! I know exactly how you feel! The bright side is that somebody took you a laptop! You know how bored I got for a week. You hang in there buddy and keep us posted!!

Look at it like you do working on your cars being the perfectionist you are, let the doctors do what they need to do and get you fixed up right the first time! You might think you're just sitting there like the Rampage in the garage, but the Docs are formulating a plan to make you ready to run. You dont want to be hacked together for Drag Week but rather fixed for life for all to enjoy

Good Luck, When I read this I realized it was 2 years ago yesterday since I had my heart attack. Mine happened on a Friday and I also had to wait all weekend in the hospital so they could do the procedure on Monday. No Fun! I missed a good friends wedding and my nieces daughters christening. It was probably best that it happened on Friday because I may have tried to ignore it if I was at one of the events.
You are in my prayers!

Well it looks like my y-pass quit working BUT they
are gonna put me on the tread mill today to see if
I can get by without it(I'm doubting it) but I sure
didnt want them splitting me open again... its bow
season and I sure couldnt draw my cross bow or the
wifes cross bow(she just had a shoulder replaced)..
so I'm hoping for a stent or two.....

drugs for a while ... if they work then he wont have
to split me open... sure hope they work.. gotta start
on them today but he wants me to stay in the hospital
at least today and walking around to see if everything
works.. I could be alergect to it.. we will see....

a double by-pass... he is trying to keep the one side
open .. at least for a while.. fine by me..I didnt

Get well soon Mr. P. I just had 3 more stents put in me 2 weeks ago. Now I got 7 of them.
It sure is nice having the extra flow. Makes doing things a lot easier.

Yeah I know what ya mean... right now I'm at 15 stents
and 1 by-pass.. the by-pass quit working a month or so
ago... thats what ended me up going to the doc but
he feels he an get me by on this new drug.. until
I need a second by-pass then they will do both.. sure
hope it works for a while... better living thru chemistry

p.s. might as well have them do a 5 angle valve job while they are in there...

Mike I hear you on deer season.Opened here last Saturday.Ive been out once with the crossbow my son 3 times.Still warm and they arent moving much.Lots of acorns in the woods also.Rocky

We've had some nice bucks in the backyard down here
(a couple of 6 points, 3- 8 points and 1- 10 point)..
all on camera.. but the wife seen a 6 and a 8 point
the other day.... but we are headed up to our other
house tomorrow.. thats where we do most of our hunting
but we do some late hunting down here

Modern medicine is amazing, it's mind boggling how far things have come and what doctors tolerate before they cut you open these days. NMy kid likely wouldn't be here or at least would not be leading the normal life he leads today without all the advances in pediatric and adult cardiology. (6 years old, 3 open heart surgeries)
Maybe they will put you on Sildenafil (otherwise known as Viagra). My kid was on it for a while when he was really little but is now on a Enalapril only.
