What works on the dyno may not be the best for the track The motor did not reach peak on HP on either pull it looks like to me The torque graph does look a little flatter with the bigger pipes It would be a very good test at the track to find out which set makes the car go quicker and faster

Very impressive, nice motor. I watched the dyno pull clip, I thought I was the only one that had exhaust pipes fall off during pulls. I use safety wire on mine now.Dave

True Cab, the small headers have to stay for right now Chuck and Pete made sure I spent my money on what was absolutely needed to get the results for what we wanted to do within my budget. The only thing I know is it idled like a dream, sounded like a beast and made exactly what they said it would. Testing will have to wait till next year as the car is still in the chassis shop.

The big tubes lost quite a bit of torque for a few horsepower gain. I would say the smaller tubes are a better choice

I agree, with the big tires the small tubes will work good. If it was on 10.5 s I would use the big ones

I know it wasn't tested here, but you have had previous experience with the Indy cross ram. Whats your guess if this motor were equipped with the Indy cross ram as far as peak torque and overall power numbers?

That's a strong package, impressive. It blew the "dam" exhaust clear off in the vid. lol It's good to see you posting again. Welcome back

BMBBR5 Roller Cam 283 on a 115

Can you give us a little more info on that cam?
LSA 115 (wider than I expected)
Intake/Exhaust at 0.050" 283?
Lift with the 1.6 ratio?

I bought your BMBB 3R from another racer for my 540 CID, 345CNC.

I liked the straight 2.125" headers. They made more torque and the horsepower pulled to the top of the pull (7400rpm). That surprised me with 572 CID. Perhaps the cam and 3X intake?

I've used a 4 inch spacer with good results on the dyno.

I am willing to bet the exhaust duration at .050 is over 300 degrees with that wide of a lsa. That would provide enough overlap in the "fifth cycle". It would also keep the other three opening and closing points close to what other cams have with less exhaust duration and narrower lsa. The exhaust opening point is the one that would move around( open earlier) if I am right.

The last engine I dyno tested with the Indy X ram was my 512 with Brodix B1BS heads that I had in my Coronet it made 880hp and ran 9.0s at 3400 lbs

That surprises me. The overlap is seven degrees less than the average I have seen on six different grinds, all recommended for my 528. The lift with a 1.6 rocker (pictured) is a lot less than I expected too.

Thanks for the cam card.
Comparing it to your 3R cam I bought (used) it is 4 degrees longer duration, 3 degrees wider LSA, and the same lobe lift. That is in line with going from a 540 to 572 with your builds. And with that user's 1.6 ratio it comes out to .754/.722 valve lift.

I opted to not have them flow tested they are OOTB -1 345s (but I did have them port matched them)
