How do we get on with tinting lexan?

Im told by a tint shop that polycarbonate breaths and if I conventionally tint it with tint film it will bubble within a month or so,

i installed tinted polycarbonate into my car, looks awesome but night drags are a bit hard, especially with paint on headlights.

If you're a stickler for the rules I believe it says lexan or plexiglass cannot be tinted. Only factory safety glass tinting is allowed.
