Gasket Qustion - 01/18/14 04:27 PM

Does anyone have a part number for the gasket that goes in between the oil filter plate and the block for a 360 LA? I can't seem to find one anywhere and need one.

Looks like it's a Fel-Pro 70522 ??. Also, the Wix 51076 canister filter for my old D100 318 Poly comes with one. Just an option if no one local has just the gasket maybe they have that filter http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=360567&cc=1330276

Looks like Superformance Products has what you need too. Here's a thread with more info. Good Luck https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=7517612

Come on you guys saying you don't need it, read the post first before misleading him You can not run the oil filter adapter plate on the side of the block without the gasket, you all know that OP, contact your local Dodge or Chrysler dealer if you can't buy it anywhere else That is with the screw on adapter, not the 90 degree adapter If your using the 90 degree adapter you will need the cork inner gasket also, maybe even with the steel adapter screw on plate also, make sure and verify what you really need

If its the one I'm thinking of(between the filter
plate and block) its needed... will pour oil out if
not used...I got a few and I think I got one from
Performace gasket(I think thats Gregs place)

Yes it is for the the screw in plate without an adapter. I know that I need it otherwise you will successfully empty the oil all over the place and make a huge mess. I have seen it happen. I know they come in the engine gasket kits but I wanted the part number if I ever needed it by itself. Thanks to all for their input.

I'm sure I got one set from Greg(Superformce Gasket)
but I dont have the package around to get the number..
all it was, was the big(maybe 5" dia) and the small
3/4" for the stud on the center that the filter
mounts on.... I know I talked to Greg on this because
I asked about the thickness of the large gasket...
I was having issues with the outer gasket sealing
with the plate I had... it was either grind down the
center area where the center stud goes in or double
up the large gaskets... I think some where over the
years the step in the plate changed and the one I
had didnt have enough to seal the outer OD with just
one gasket.... I ended up glueing the 2 gaskets together
due to the engine was already in the car... if it
wasnt in I would have milled the center area down some

Mike, not to take this thread OT. I did in fact check the 90* oil filter adapter gasket in a factory block and it fit perfect.
The bore on the block measured 4.640" and the gasket is 4.645" O.D. to hold it in there in case your on your back during the install

I assume your block was machined undersize if you had problems with the install
