Anybody here running them? What springs/setup are you using? Thoughts and comments on either? Thanks

i was running their R1 cam. got down to 9.4 but it had harmonics. a cam grinder fixed it & it runs perfect now. it was a real consistant winner for me. i have a Bullet cam now thats similar to R2 with a little less lift.

yes, we were constantly experiancing bolts coming loose & then 1 day we broke a pushrod which knocked the lifter bar off causing the roller to turn. it left a small mark on the lobe so i sent it to the cam man to fix. he told me there's some harmonics with this grind & he could fix it & remove the mark at the same time. he did the job & we no longer have nuts n bolts coming loose on the engine. go figure.

I currently am running the R2 with a set of K Motion springs. Running the red zone lifters, 1.6 HS rockers and Smith brothers push rods. Time for a check up as the springs are 4 years old this coming spring. Checked at 2 years when heads were freshened and all was good. Car sees 7200 shift and at the stripe. Has been 7600 a few times with no issues just wasn't any quicker. Current set up is in a .055" 440 but plan on using the cam in future build with a larger CI. Beep

I think I'm getting ready to try the R2 - with Jesel 1.7's - looks like the hot ticket.

So is the R2 cam any good? I have one in my 540 with 14-1 CR and 440-1 heads that flow 370 (ex is 85% of intake) with the 1.6 HS rockers. About to put the engine in the Demon. Gonna use stepped proparts headers and 3 1/2" ex through mufflers. Street car...

Re: Indy R2 and R3 Cams - 01/22/15 03:55 AM

I ran the R2 last year after running the Comp .650 324 solid for years. I use 1.5 single shaft T&D 1.55 PACs and Smith Bros pushrods. 304 lbs seat and about 740 open. As far as et the difference was in hundredths (not much) and most of the difference was in mid range making it slightly more difficult to dial, not good, but with some timing curve adjustments it seems to make a very robust and consistent bracket motor setup, Im sticking with it. This may or may not be what your looking for depending on what you want but this is my experience with the cam in my now 533 cubic inch low deck motor, btw I put it in at 108 cl, I had to give it a little more intake valve clearance too as the R2 reduced clearance slightly.

i have run the r2 alot in my 499, the kmotion spings jndy sold me was a joke, after going to the pac spring all is good now, run it with hs 1.5 rockers

i tried a couple other cams that was close to this one, but this was the quickest.
