Do not want a rumor to run rampant. If so, I hope all is well.

Was at Atco yesterday. While in the lanes I was told that a beautiful black 63 crashed causing the delay. I didn't see it.

XX Hemi Ed Cook. Hope he's okay.
That car flies upstairs so I hope if anything it happened in the lower depths of the run where the speeds are more calm.

Same here. Apparently it made a turn into the wall at a Buck 120 from what was told to me from one of the Supercar guys that was there.
Ironically, my dreadful cell phone first got a hint of the news from another friend who had hit the wall at E-town also with a beautiful 63'

Thank goodness the driver was not injured. If it was Ed Cooks Maxi that is unfortunate as his 63 Savoy is a real max wedge car.

I guess when ever you are ready if, you'll fill us in on what brought this about. It can maybe save others the grief or injury.
Again, glad that you are alright. The car will be fine when the time allows. I know a good friend right here in the city that may part with some good used or NOS parts. I'll put you in contact with him if you need.

Re: Has there been an accident with one of the F.A.S.T cars - 11/05/13 11:15 PM

Again

Thank You all very much for the support. The accident was nobody's fault but my own. There was a few oil downs and two other crashes all in the same lane prior to my crash but I know the guys Atco are always on top of keeping the track right. The car got out of the grove and I thought I could bring it back with no issues I should have lifted and called it a day.

But I am fine and the car is already being worked on.

Ron I do need the hood. cell 845-548-9000 email q5daytona@aol.com

I also need:

Two fenders
Front and rear bumper
Front valance
If anyone has some real nice extra's

Thanks a lot Ed

Re: Has there been an accident with one of the F.A.S.T cars - 11/06/13 06:13 AM

True that. When I once got out of the groove at Lebanon Dragway and the car got drunk like quick, I lifted like a p#$$y. Did not want to wreck myself or the car.
I'll take making that left turn to the return road with my tail between my legs any time to race another day. That's Drag racing as they say.

Danny

Its coming together pretty good thanks to a really good friend of mine that owns a heavy collision shop. Structurally everything is now where it needs to be and its in very good hands.

Thank you to all that reached out with the parts I was looking for. I did buy a four door parts car that had a perfect front clip.

On a bad note the passenger quarter will need a lot of work so if anyone has one and there willing to part with it let me know.

Either way it will be back in the Spring.

Thanks

Have you weighed your car yet? Prior to the crash my car weighed 3290 which I thought was very light to begin with? That's with two battery's and 3 gals. of fuel.

unfortunately when you add 320 for a driver your weight program goes right out the window.

I'll take the keys please. LOL. 180 at best.
XX. Check this:
No underwear, thin cotton evening socks, light weave Denim jeans, a good culinary F.A.S.T-ing two days in a row with only water for drink, then a good trip to the John there after, a good haircut and shave, and last but not least, one aluminum ignition key of which only a small amount were forged in 1963. That should cut the weight by a 10 Lbs or so. LOL.
Seriously, I know you are a tall guy. Are your seating mounts in the stock location? Some times an inch backward could make a difference in the shift.
3200-+ That's a pretty decent weight as it is now. It could be a little lighter.
I'm weighing my car next week or so. Been busy.
I've only played hooky on here in between my madness to sooth the stress. Plus you'll are much more stand up guys then some folks I have to deal with. LOL.

The alabaster & black is my favorite especially with a black car. If the car is ever fully restored you could make it original then. Good luck on getting it finished and some quick times in the spring.

Sammy,

This car had the color change before I purchased it.

I don't think I would had given it a second thought if it was not already black.

I think it will live it's life out with me as a race car. No more restoration for a while.

Gene,

It will be ready for testing at the end of April. I will see you then

What do you mean tomorrow and Sunday. As far as I know, it's a Sunday event unless they are testing and or time trialing tomorrow with eliminations on Sunday only. I'd hate to miss seeing the action since I will be coming from Boston downstate.

Great, I'm bringing my good friend who's a Chevy diehard and hopefully we can ambush him. LOL. Some good friend I am in return hey? LOL.

Should be a lot of fun.
Do us proud Mopar guys.
I'm looking forward to seeing that 10 second small block Duster.
