Recommend a Hemi builder - 11/03/13 07:29 PM

I'm looking for a builder to build up an aluminum 605ci carbureted street/strip Hemi.
Anyone have a trusted shop?. If you could please respond with a contact name/number and if you had any personal experience with them.
I've been talking with Jim shewbert. Someone recommends him or already worked with him.

Thanks in advance.

Dave Dudek built my 528 and I am very happy with the results. Meticulous attention to detail is his hallmark.

Ray Barton Racing Engines (610)693-5700. What are your horse power goals for the motor? 605 ci is pretty big. A hemi that big will make 1000 hp or more. I seen one on Rays Dyno making over 1200 hp.

I've had 2 non-crate 528 Ray Barton engines & have been happy with both. That being said, I've also got to say, you'll find MANY opinions on engine shops so spend your time asking quaetions before you step up to something like that.

Both Barton and Dudek record’s speak for themselves. They have held and currently hold Super Stock, Stock, F.A.S.T and Factory Stock records! Can’t go wrong with either one but I would like to also put in a vote for doing it yourself, since it does save a lot of money!

Todd is the only place. Sure Ray Barton has a name and hell of history. Call and price the same thing Todd will build u at rays and find out. Todd is a racer And knows how hard it is to earn money to build stuff.

I needed a new engine for the Sox&Martin Duster and chose Bob George.
Others I spoke to always emphasized how much more power they would make over the competition.
None mentioned anything about my biggest concern longevity. Over 350 passes and only work has been plugs and oil changes
My experience with him has been nothing but great.

My experience has been fantastic with Tim @ FHO. This is my third build with him, priors were 2, 572. Never a problem, and were really run hard, both NA, sold both in perfect condition according to the buyers who are still running the original builds. My latest arrived a few weeks ago, 572 Procharged, dyno 1574 HP and still has a few hundred HP moe left according to Tim, will be very reliable too. You can never go wrong with him.

All the people mentioned here are very good at what they do and they will all build you a great motor. Bob George will always treat you like a friend and is always there to help or just answer dumb questions.Dave

Re: Recommend a Hemi builder - 11/04/13 03:17 PM

As usual Mikey in his obsession to discredit me brings BGR to the forefront of attention. We thank him for giving us another oppertunity for free attention.
Most everyone knows who we are and a lot about BGR.I don't think we need to defend ourselves or our reputation from the likes of Mikey or others like him.His few post here have offended others as well.He has never contributed anything positive.
That we are out there every race season and when we do good or not we hide from no one.Everyone can form their own opinion of what we contribute be it success or failure.
As the famous quote:let the ones free of sin and pure of heart cast the first stone. We challenge Mikey to post up the names of these famous engine builders that have never had an engine failure. No one can guarrantee every build from parts failure to honest mistakes,it's how the issues are handled after the fact that determines the character of the builder or shop.
The pictures Mikey choose to post is our car with our engine that had a part failure. We are sure that this has never happened to Mikey or his engine builder because they are those mentioned in the aforementioned quote.
We thank those that honor us by their mentioning our name in the same context of a long list of great engine builders. We thank Mikey for bringing our name to the forefront so that everyone can judge who has an honest reputation and who has a personal issue that will let everyone determine his character or lack of character. It would be prudent for Mikey to justify his knowledge, contribution and his insite so that everyone can know him as pubilicly as BGR has exposed ourselves to everyone.
We will always be there for all to see(good or bad) and be available to everyone. We will never hide behind a keyboard in a cowardly way.We will always honor our relationships with those who we call friends.Everyone needs to understand myself(Bob George) is only a small part of BGR.BGR is an outstanding group of racers and builders of engines, parts, chassis and complete race cars that I'am proud to be a part of.
Respectfully,
Bob

ps: nice pictures Mikey, did you take them or hunt them down on you quest of stalking me? Your obsession and motive is questionable or were you not loved and recieve any attention in your formulative years?

Looks like "Bad Bob"the dog is tired of Mikey trying to out do him as far as being a champion butt sniffer and ball licker.
I would love to see Mikey post his lifes resume of his age, sex, mentality and all his major accomplishments. If anyone has any info about this gutless keyboard pretender, please share.
I already know enough to make me but others may find him quite amusing and strange.
Al,as far as the "hog pen"someone should "gut shoot" Mikey and throw him to the hogs.

Mikey comes out once in awhile to shoot his wad then he climbs back in his little hole in the ground. Someday he will actually do something on his own and grow up some. I hope.

Jim Kilpatrick at Kilpatrick Racing Engines in Waukesha Wisconsin has never failed to impress me. He is passionate about Hemis and has had just about any combo you could think of from a 6 second blown door slammer at 3200+lbs to a Nats gold recipient. He IS quality

some great names and engine builders here for sure.

i have dealt with tim at FHO for both of my builds, and have nothing but the highest regard for him! can't go wrong there.

Thanks for all answers. But as for Jim shewbert anyone know or have dealt with it. I have exchanged some information with him, and seems to be reliable and competent beyond the most was Ken Black which indicated to me Jim.

You remember I was at that event. Staring you down, I motioned that if you want to say something to me to come over and say it. You declined.

If you have a problem with those pictures, complain to the guy who took them. http://www.tdspeedshotz.com/7-13-2013-sat-bsd/HEMI%20SUPER%20STOCK/index.htm Or build a better car!
