604 on the dyno - 09/06/13 07:22 PM

My 604 is sitting on muscle motors dyno today. Mike emailed me this morning and the first pulls made 1035hp and 840 ft/lbs. He was waiting for some more fuel to arrive so he can start tuning. I asked for a video so hopefully when I get an update later I can post a video and some numbers

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/06/13 07:39 PM

I'd have to dig back through my emails for the exact specs but its a 4.5 bore world iron block. B1mc heads sheet metal tunnel ram, 4.75 stroke callies crank, comp custom ground cam in the 820 lidt area. And its goin in a 25.1e tube chassis 70 cuda.

1093 HP @ 7550, 874 TQ @6100. We tried more jet and it didn't like it. That and I ran out of Q 16 after the last jet change so 1093 will have to do.....

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/10/13 12:36 AM

I'm pretty happy with 1093hp out of a 572 mike.

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/10/13 01:00 AM

As Toby has stated I made an executive decision to switch this to a 572 from a 604. Toby wanted Steel rods(Oliver's)so I elected to use the shorter stroke. Adding a bunch of stroke takes away from the efficiency of the engine and with the heavier bob weight(steel rods)I figured the engine would be "happier" with the shorter stroke.

If you use the available formulas the Original B1 heads doesn't need or want a lot of cubic inches.

Heads are B1MC's 2.400/1.80, Comp Roller, Isky EZ roll lifters, Jesel Rockers/Belt drive, ATI dampner, wet sump and a Morosso vacuum pump making 12+". We used our standard wedge dyno headers: 2"x 32" w/3" collector so I'm sure there are a few HP with a bigger, shorter tube header. And YES, Q16 makes power! Especially on a combination like this that is somewhat airflow limited.

was this with 2 - 4500s or single 4500, whats the comp. ratio ?

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/10/13 02:35 AM

2 4500's sheet metal intake. Mike may have to chime in on the compression. I think its 15:1 ish

More detailed info would be cool.

Thanks

So, they are B1 originals, 2-4500's, sheet metal tunnel ram, I'm curious if it's a Hogan, and a fairly aggressive cam profile. What will the car weigh with driver?

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/10/13 06:56 PM

Cam is a comp custom grind, mikes got all the details. I gave him a list of what I wanted and a hp expectation and he handled the rest. Yes its a hogans intake. And yes it uses ti valves. As far as the b1's I ordered b1mc castings from koffels and had them drop shipped to mike. Its either a misprint on mikes part or koffels messed up and sent him originals. I'm hoping mike will chime in with a few more details for everyone. Couldn't be any happier with the numbers he pulled

The numbers are impressive. What will the car weigh with driver?

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/10/13 08:15 PM

I'm hoping to be in the 25-2600 lb area with me in it. I'm using as much carbon fiber as possible. Glass doors and frond end. Carbon tubs door panels and tunnel. 2 speed glide, dana 60.

Re: 604 on the dyno - 09/10/13 08:41 PM

Good numbers especially with originals. Saying originals based on intake valve size listed. Best of luck with it and cant wait to hear how it performs....Oh yeah 2500-2600 I wish

There's some pics of the car in the projects forum under 25.1e cuda. I tried uploading a few recent pics but moparts doesn't like my phone I guess.
