In HOTROD this month, Eddie Miller and his Duster are suppose to be there. Im going to see DRAGWEEK at Gateway in STL. Can't wait!

I will be there. Made some changes to the car more gear more cam more compression, hope to do some testing after all the upgrades this coming Saturday in Tulsa.

Mine hasn't changed much from last year. I fixed the ignition problem I was having, and had Ryan J do his stage II port job to my Edelbrocks.

This is a pic I took last year during DW, as you can see its a photo of me hanging on the rear bumper of a slower DW car.

I was thinking(I know thats bad).. but my weird electrical
problem which was that the car would start fine BUT
it wouldnt shut down with the key(on a regular basis as
of today).. I think the rod that comes down the column
came out of the ignition switch... I will check tomorrow
but it was weird that it starts great but cant shut
it down all the time... I had the wife in the cab
(and she has a hard time getting in and out while its
on the hoist with a bad hip) and I asked if she banged
her foot into the column and she said she might have..
the way I have the column set up the rod is sorta
wimpy.. I guess I should make that better.... but at
least I know the master kills the car... LOL

The Valiant won't be making the trip this year. My daughter will make it in the Belvedere for a repeat of last year, hopefully without the head gasket issues.

Funny I see this thread after coming across half a dozen R5/P7's on RJ. Has anyone ran one of those on DW? Seems they would be reliable (if anything), not sure it would be worth the cost after detuning for pump gas though, or if the reliability stays the same with boost to make up for it, or what class it would end up in.

I think that is what Leon is running in his car.. he
has been having some issues with the valve train..
so I think he opted to just run his truck

I'll be flying up and hitting all the tracks as a spectator. Wife's family lives in/around Lebanon, KY so this was an easy sell. I hope to meet some you and all these great rides in person. 15 days and counting! I'm pumped!

of mine today and pulled the W-2s off my other engine
so tomorrow I will mock up the W-2s on the block
thats in the Rampage... gotta measure for push rods
and hope this takes care of the oil issue

So now I'm riding shotgun again (Trunk Monkey) with Jay Brown.
We are taking his 69 Mach I, with the 545"FE highriser wedge. The motor is areally cool build with a ton of home made parts.

Here is the Mach I in action:
We should be running in Big block naturaly aspirated street race. The cars biggest limitation is traction. It is a real R-code (428 Cobra Jet) Mach I, so jay isn't willing to cut up the body to fit bigger tires. And he wants to stick with a stock appearing theme as much as possible, so nothing has been done to lighten it. We will be leaving for Drag Week with this combo mostly untested.
I need to make sure and meet up with all you fellow Mopar lovin'Drag Week guys, even though I'll be in a Ford.

is the reason my ride wont be there.. I put my W-2s
on yesterday but still checking the intake and need

Kudo's to DJ for the effort. Now he'll have another year to get it dialed in. He'll need it.
Anyone trying to compete in unlimited has got their work cut out for them, that's for sure! Larry Larson, the Unlimited Champ, has been flogging that Chevy for about 30 years. It is going to be tuff to start with a new car, and all the unknown gremlins, get it all sorted, and take down a veteran car like Larrys. And hopefulls should be at the track every weekend all year to get things scienced out, find the week points and fix them, and get the seat time. Then drive the car to work all week. It will take a lot of dedication.
