I have some trw moly 5/16 pushrods that i bought years ago and i would like to know if they will be strong enough for my combo which uses performer rpm heads with the supplied hydraulic springs and comps xe285hl cam.

You should be good to go, just check the lenght make sure they will be correct for what you have!

If you knew the wall thickness it would be easy to say..
but on a hd cam I would say yes you can use them..
I am running 5/16" push rods on a 620# springs but
the wall is .120

Not sure on the wall thickness. The part number is 48821, I will try and find some details somewhere.

Is that gonna be the proper length for your set up

I don't think those springs are all that stiff, maybe 350-360# or so IIRC. Those pushrods are probably about .080 wall or so. Hope the cam doesn't have a lot of lift or fast ramps. For a mild/stockish setup it wouldn't seem to be a problem under 6000 RPM.

On the Edelbrock springs I've tested lately, they seem to only be around 120 seat and 295 open. A lot of the old TRW pushrods were only .060 wall.

I wont know if the length is right until I get the heads back. I was originally going to use some 452 castings and bought those pushrods to work with them. If there to short I will get some 3/8 pushrods instead. Just unsure about the wall thickness and the XE285HL cam is an aggressive lobe. My head guy called today and said most of the guides were tight and the seats were offset from the guides. Glad I had them checked.
