Why Do/Dont you put the drivers name on the car? - 06/17/13 05:11 PM

I was in a conversation over this last weekend asking why I dont have my name plastered on my windows like the others do... I really didnt have an answer, other than I never found a need for it..


This conversation has stuck with me and now I ask you.. Why do or dont you put your name on your car?

No Name for me. Most around here know me and my car anyways. And I prefer the cleaner look.

I drive mine on the street and it rarely sees a trailer. I think its super cheezy on a street car.

Same reason I go by Al..Because no one can pronounce it correctly Still trying to get Rhinehart to get it right.

It helps get your name known and that helps attract sponsors, at least it used to before everyone ran out of money.

Keep everything spit polished if your looking for $$ AND WORK HARD. tHE SPONSORS CAN SEE THAT.

I put my name on the window hoping the same guy will show up to drive, but so far that hasn't worked and each driver(me)keeps finding new ways to screw up and loose!

We started entering cars( car number's T/D *** SC****) not the driver,sometimes I will drive all of our cars at the beginning of the race,and if we are lucky enough to get all of them a few rounds I can't make it back in time to keep driving all of them.The rules state one driver can drive as many cars as he enters,but 2 drivers can't enter and drive the same car.Thats means the same car can't be entered and driven by 2 different drivers the same round.

I have my name on mine but was hesitant to put it on because it could potentially help thieves.

Being a tribute car, we have the original driver's name on the door and Kevin's name on the window.

No name here, after having/ racing 11secdart for over 30 years most know who I am, I do have my wifes name on the top of the rear window however, a small token to show how much I appreciate all she does for me. I did see something that still cracks me up when I think of it: There was a Cuda at the Mopar Atlantic Nats a few years ago and were the drivers name was it said: I.M. Shot

I have had this car since 1976, in 1986 I built a full chassis for it. We could not come up with a name for it then so I used my own, It has always been lettered the same. I have always liked the look so it stayed.

Some of the crap driving I do at the track each week its best that people cant associate a name with it...

I go to race meets to see the cars not the drivers, your name is really not important
