he would start the car on the trailer,and redline it,just to piss off the neighbors,then tell them to "hit the pike".he was quite a character....

Agree; thus the reason for kicking off the header with "reported..." Don't recall a colt either.
Here's what the captions said:
1972 Dodge Colt, Al Petrulis, Michigan, originally built for Butch Leal, the "California Flash".
Perhaps there was intent to run a Colt but it never happened?

Here's the 71' Dodge Colt we just finished building at our shop......NHRA legal to 8.50 tube chassis.....4 link rear with fabbed moser rear end.....Strut front end....Trick little car.....The real deal....Not a Fiberglass replica.....Jesse

I bought the nostalgia rod shop pro stock dodge colt that was built by Holt and sold it, Holt built two of those cars for the Smiths, the other one went to Freeman along with the Neon that Mike drove in comp

Cars got a pump gas 408 built by Mike at MRL Performance.....engine made 600hp on 92 octane.......also has a glide trans in it....Its going to be a bracket warrior.....weighed 2550 without driver......Jesse

The latest rendition of "The Rod Shop Colt" as pictured above is a former Eddie Smith car built by John Holt . There is a really cool item about that car , but I will not be the one who tells.

I've always loved this Colt. I wanted to buy it when it was for sale, but did not have the means to purchase it. 
Not sure where it ended up. The guys that owned it ended up building a '64 Dodge if I remember correctly.
