Best place to get a mini starter ????????? - 03/08/13 03:24 AM

I have to get a new starter as I'm not willing to try the one that has been on the car sitting for over 15 years LOL. Was thinking might as well get a mini starter if its a direct bolt on for my old sled/hot rod.

Best place to get one?

What was the application was thinking the listing was for a B Van or something?

Thank you

I would buy an original Denso unit from Mancini Racing http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/delihist.html
Don't settle for the cheap Chinese junk,If it doesn't say Denso keep looking

You can get them all day long off of a late model mopar at your local salvage yard for a song. The only thing that ever goes wrong with them is the contacts. They can be had for a few bucks and are easy to install. One other thing, the parts store will likely hit you for a core charge that is more than the starter itself FWIW.

Have several parts-store specimens on my cars for numerous years with no troubles. IMHO no need to spend $200 on one.

Be aware, there may be a terminal extension setup on it that will hit hte engine block, but it is removable.

I have an alternator from them(DB). I also have bought and used some starters from A1 Truck Parts on the ebag. The starters are fine so far. They put them on auction with a Buy it Now price too. I tried to bid on one a few times, finally just did the BIN on my first one. Then, after I got mine and saw how good it worked, I would put a max bid in and forget about it. Occasionally, you will get one for cheap. I think the BIN w/shipping was under $60.00.
