never did a test on different types of headers...our Duster had a custom set that could be called fender well exits and made tremendous HP..

just recently I had my 499 on the dyno with Doug's headers...they are fender well exits for my B body...great HP on pump gas...broke in at least 700hp on pump gas plus only 10-1 compression..

hey Jeff great job you are doing on your 63 dodge. well if i don't end up selling my 73 dart soon, i want to take the 440 out of it and put it in my 73 duster. i have the tti 2 inch headers in it now, but was wondering if i would pick up or loose power if i switched to the headman's fender well headers? so will be watching this thread to see what kind of answer,s are posted. thanks mopar65

Bobby
Why not just have the heads ported. There's probably 3/10's there.
To the OP, I cant help you on the power figures but from what i've seen and read, Hedman and stahl make better power than the other production headers.
I've had hooker and currently TTI's on mine.

I have TTi step headers in the Demon. They work better than most if not all for an off the shelf item - but I did not want a fender well exit header. Mine are ceramic coated. When the time comes to do some stuff to the car, I'l most likely get a custom set made, but until then - I have no performance complaints with the TTi's - working on the car is a whole different story though.

At one time,I think muscle motors recommend tublar automotive headers, but I have never seen a set before.I have help put on serveral sets of the pro parts headers on dusters, but would like to hear about real world differences.

If you go on Big block dart's tech pages, there is a whole section complete with pictures about different headers and their fitting issues.

Tubular auto 440 headers won't work with anything but a stock exhaust port height and location head, unless you get out the sawzall and mig welder. Otherwise they want to be where the firewall and floor are; in other words - they don't fit an INDY SR or other raised port head on an RB block. Dunno about a low deck ..

Mine's a lowdeck with ported -1s; the pro parts would not fit without serious mods.
