Max lift for Magnum/LA Hybrid. - 02/25/13 05:53 PM
What would the max lift for a magnum headed la 360? I've narrowed it down to 2 K Kits. One Has .506/.506 lift with 1.6 rockers and the other has .516/.516 lift with 1.6 rockers. Is .516 too much? I read somewhere the magnum heads can go to .525 lift or more. Also the cam with .516 lift has a 108* lobe seperation, that will not work with power brakes will it? Is there a way to get it to work with power brakes? Thanks Moparts!

We can go up to .650 lift on our LAX heads or MAX Heads with a 2.055 1.625 valve.
We use a .100 longer valve at that point

The duration plays a big part.
My .540/.540 lift, 236° @ .050" cam needed Rhoads lifters to make enough vacuum for my power brakes initially with the PCM controlling idle speed. Now that I'm stand alone controlled - I can make enough vacuum at idle to not need them. I've gone with a solid roller setup on the same cam and still make enough vacuum for brakes.

The 408 that I'm getting has a .672 lift solid roller. I'm unclear as to what rocker ratio it's using though. Still some unknowns about it but it does have the aluminum MP magnum R/T heads.

It depends on how the heads are done. On a sotck magnum head once you get past the .500 lift mark you need to have the guides clearance. Just bring your heads to any decent machine shop and tell what lift you are going to use and they will make them work.
