I finally figured out what to do with expired race helmets

Use them for Snow Blowing in the wind!

I think I'll start collecting them and selling them over here in New England

they do work great for that, I started using my road bike helmets for snow blowing years ago. neighbors thought i was a little funning looking but damn my head was warm. now i have a cab on the tractor with heat in it.

Its been great, warm & quiet, just needs defrost - wish Id thought of this years ago - little slow I guess

My one snowmobile helmet does have defrost on the
shield... its a wire grid between the 2 layers of
plastic... it plugs in on the sled with a control
box with high, low and off... I'm sure you could tap
in on your snow blower or strap a lawn tractor batt
on it(if it isnt elec start).. I bought the shield
and the controller to fit my helmet... worked really
nice till I crashed
