.....Should have told you...build it for a 14.5x32 tire.....much more in the way of options and they are cheaper....it's a common size for SG and SC.....my Hoosier supplier sells then to me for 157.00 ea....and my Goodyear guy is 225.00 ea....

Hey Bill,

What tires/rims and sizes do you have on the car now??
Posted By: dartman366

Re: been a little busy...to say the least - 12/12/12 09:12 AM

had been running 29.5X11.5X15 phoenix which is the widest tire I could stuff under it with stock frame rails and mini tubbed.

Ron, I can easily fit a 14X32W under it if I choose to but went with a 14X31 because of the rollout, my Phoenix had a 95" rollout and the 14X32's had 102 I believe,,these have 97" so the 14X31:s shouldn't have a very profound negative effect on my 60 ft's,,you cannot imagine how many times I wish you were closer,Holt racecars is a good chassis shop about an hour away that has done me a good job in the past, between you and them I got about as good a results as I could from the old combo, plus they are members here on this site,,screen name Ben Holt

John, Walt told me he seen you at the sale and said they had some pretty neat and handy things there like bridgeport mills and things.

on ocasion, and I never knew when, especially on lesser prepped tracks, now on good tracks like Norwalk,National Trails and Kil-Kare it would hook like a beast and give me low 1.3x 60ft's consistantly

Re: been a little busy...to say the least - 12/17/12 06:56 PM

A big thanks to Walt and his welding skills and ability to crawl around the monkey bars in side the car, I finished up what we couldn't get done Sunday,( ran out of argon ) and mounted the front tires on the bling wheels today, also stopped at the sheet metal shop and picked up some material to start getting ready for the aluminum work but the tub's will be next thing to fit and install, plan on mounting the new slicks to the rim's in the morning and get a final measurement for the dana so we can get it cut down and order the new axels, it's coming along nicely and hope to have it complete by the season's start,,also there will be some update pics in the near future.

Yeah they cut the material for the tub 1.5 shorter than the radius of the end cap, this is how I fixed the origional set many years ago.

Yeah Russ I got plenty to keep me busy,,,but out of trouble???
