Jimmy Bradshaw's Blown Dart - 10/05/12 03:01 PM

What happened to the blown dart project Jimmy Bradshaw was running? I haven't seen or heard anything about it for some time. Is he still racing it or did he have another fire/mishap?? I really liked that car!!

Re: Jimmy Bradshaw's Blown Dart - 10/07/12 10:58 AM

I can't believe its still for sale, that is a steal…

There's alot of killer cars up for sale right now, I wish I had the hours in the day to race them but my current ride takes all of my spare time and then some. Stupid thing called business and family get in the way!!

Just kind of gives you an Idea how sick we are! I told a friend recently (soon to be x SS/AH racer) car racing is worse than drugs. He laughed and said "with drugs at least you pass out and stop doing them",LOL!

I would hate to think about how much money is in that Dart! But with that said, If I was to think about the baddest a$$ car on here, and this car was built and rebuilt on here, this car is clearly the winner! Now that alone, priceless!

My hats off to you Jimmy, you built a bad ride, hope the next owner doesn't change a whole bunch! And if your at the races with the alky boys, stroll down to the SS pits and say Hi. I'd like to shake your hand. YOU KNOW HOW TO BUILD A RACE CAR!!

At times niether can I still think it's not out there racing. It has all kinds of extra's that come with it and still hasn't gone anywhere. Not even offering to take trades and cash.

Thanks for the nice comments. I would be more than happy to stop by and say hello.

It's a bad time to sell i think.....

I have a like-new 150K turnkey HEMICUDA' with spare parts and the body mold to make as many bodies as ya want and I haven't advertised it yet because I fear the beating I'm probably going to take.

I think it is a little too late for that advice. From what I heard, the car is heading to a new owner this weekend Some people seem to think Hemifred may have something to do with it

It's pretty much a Top Sportsman car that I sometimes drive on the street.

Composite body, 4130 round, 4-link, sheetmetal 3rd, Santuff struts, 4spd Jeffco, 526 HEMI.....PSI screw/KB block/Stage V heads 1629hp at only 20# boost on Barton's DTS....etc. Killer House of color purple pearl, with marbleized flame and other assorted artwork.

All good stuff.

The car, the body mold and the spare parts.....I don't even know where to start for an asking price.

Yes it was.....the shop that painted it (Auto Madness) wanted it in that show. They brought it there, collected the trophies for me and brought it back to me. It was the least amount of work I ever did.

The name doesn't ring a bell, but that doesn't mean I don't know him. I'm bad with names.

The car was built at MRC (Markow Racecars).....is Gordon in that loop???

Gordon owns that Black Arrow '65 Hemi car. I've had work done by Markow. He also did the roll bar in Tom's (Moparts) '70 Challenger.

I've never advertised the body, but I have sold a couple through word of mouth. One races at LVD. I belive it's red with a single 4 HEMI with a little spray. Runs somwhere in the 7s.

Could those be made in fiberglass as well? Been looking for a decent E-cuda body and even basket cases are ridiculous for what you get.

Is the extra wheelbase from a stretch front clip? If so, maybe a clip from Glasstek or VFN for standard 'Cuda would work? Or are the body lines tweaked enough that it wouldn't line up?

Yes, all the stretch is in the nose...behind the wheel opening, but the rockers are flattened under the doors, so some work to a standard nose would need to be done in the area behind the opening to look finished.

It's easier to just build the chassis at 112. The only part of the shell that hasn't been adjusted, are the doors....

That, and the frontal drag coefficient of a brick wall.

Re: Jimmy Bradshaw's Blown Dart - 05/21/13 05:22 PM

Jimmy said it was 2650lbs in Pro Mod trim, and that they had a hell of a time finding ways to get the weight up to 3100+ for Outlaw 10.5. Even if it is a little porky for Pro Mod, I can't afford to run that class anyways. Isolated Outlaw races for me.

I am going to try to have fun with the car.

I bet the first thing coming off the car is that wing.

Actually that wing did a lot more than just sit on the back of the car. As it is completely adjustable.

yes it can be very useful

The wing stays, I can't imagine the car without it.

That's an awsome car, hate to see it leave Florida but I'm sure it's good hands. Wish I could have done something with it. Just not the right time for me.
Have fun with it.

If my simple question was too difficult, and you don't know the answer, then just say so. Its OK not to know everything.

Why else would a nose need to be narrowed to match the body

Its starting to come to me, slowly. That isn't the nose that the car originally had.
Good luck with the project.

The original nose was made identical to this one though, same scoop and width. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but it's all small things here and there.

You are correct and if you have any questions you have my number. I am looking forward to seeing it back at the track and am happy that it is in the hands of someone who likes the car as much as me.

Thank you and yes it will eventually receive the Hemi (when finished) I am building with my new solid block.

Jimmy never got to finish what he was telling me about the TFX block in the car, it started pouring and we got distracted... I wonder if it is repairable
