My turn for Pick a cam.. - 09/21/12 11:13 PM

Well guys Im getting ready to put a stock stroke 360 together to hold me over till I get more cash for my r3 project.., just need to pick a cam.

-Its has 107 KB pistons at zero deck (havent mocked it up yet)..

-Brodix heads w/ w2 rocker setup, flowed 290 @ .600, milder porting by Hemphill....thats all I remember as the flow sheet is long gone. Comparable to a w2 head. 65 cc chamber

-No power brakes
-stock A body, 3400? full interior
-265drag radials...
-4:56 Dana..
-converter flashes to 4400...10" TCI super street figher
-victor manifold and I have a 950 that I have laying around..
Any suggestions? Some street used is desired, but Im tolerable of a uncivilized grind. Let me know if you need more info.

Something that makes some steam and has a nice cackle ,like my little bro has in his 360 it's 258/266 on a 108. It is a comp , forget the lift around 600 ish

I'd call Bullet cams... they make real good power

Our 251 cam would work well: 251-258@ .050, 108lca and .570-.560 lift.

Thanks for the suggestions guys..gives me something to choose from. I guess this leads me to the next question of why one over the other? Im not real schooled in cam science. What aspects would be desireable for a combination like this?

Most catalog grinds are based on stock type engine/cylinder head combinations . Something like you have with a decent set of cylinder heads will really benefit from a fast rate of lift grind. I would use a Hughes 6064 or something similar.

Call Hughes Engines.
