Don't forget to screw on an oil filter or it will be messy .

Or to install the oil pressure send unit before priming.

It maid a nice fountain , though

I can laugh about it now that the mess is cleaned up.

Walked out of my garage in my underware after disgarding my shoes and pants. Naturally I was standing on the oil filter side ( small block ) when I fired up the drill. I did remember to screw in a oil press gauge and I watched the needle not move as I filled up my shoes.

Sorry man, but that is a funny image... Luckily, the oil never made it to me.

Good luck with your motor and start-up.

That is pretty funny... the other day when I was checking
my lifter in the bores I had my wife hold her finger
over the oil hole on the deck(going to the head).. she
was having a hard time and was loosing oil so I
stopped... as she was standing there I was gonna hit
the drill .... but I didnt... I dont think we would
be married right now if I did....LOL

John, don't think you're the only one to do that. It's amazing how much oil a Melling high volume oil pump can pump with a 1/2" drill.
I still had mine on jack stands when I did it in 2007. Cold VR1 20w50 is not easy to clean up off of concrete.

It's good to know I'm not the only one.
