I've got a dumb question. I've got a new set of P315/60R-15's what air pressure is everyone running on the street with these things? Dave

I run about 25 psi on the street, then lower them down to 15-ish at the track

Well I tryed 26#'s, stopped out on my semi-private test track. I dropped it in low, nailed it, shifted to 2nd and had to get out of it or I'd have waded it up in the ditch. I'll try 18lbs. next go around, the tires still seem like they're too hard yet. It probably won't make much difference, this truck motor just makes a pile of tire shreading torque. Dave
Quote:I forgot to mention mine have worked well on good tracks at 22 to 18 lbs of pressure on MY GAUGE Once they( the radails) start to spn they will not recover like the bias plys do I have to let off to let them grab and then try again, I do let off and shift it in first gear, that will work most of the time I have had them break loose in high gear on the street when I've got a wild a-- urge to floor it over 45 MPH, my converter flashes to 5500 or so
Larry; I'm running them on 10" rims. I e-mailed M/T this morning, they shot me back an e-mail. Their recs are 32psi on the street for this size tire.Dave

Fry them first and then try your launch test. You should see a noticeable difference.

If you keep changing the tire pressure from street to track, you are changing how the tire loads from outside edges to the middle. I pick a pressure after some track testing and leave it.
