3G HEMI 1st time to track - 05/20/12 11:51 PM

It all went purty fast just getting the car going with the XFI 2.0/XIM on the car this past week.
I really wanted to make it out for the Mopower race this past wknd.

So I fired it up thursday morning with some tunning in the garage. Called my local chassis dyno guy and he said he could get me in at 1 in the afternoon that day. Cool right, so head over there for about 3 hours of hard thrashin on the car. Have it fairly close. Leave it in the trailer and take off for National Trails early friday morning.

Made 2 easy passes lifting at the 1/8th. Foot braked the car leaving at 2000rpm shifted 6500
went 6.55 in the 1/8th....NO issues with car

I data logged all the passes and lookd at run VE table could use some work but not to bad. I felt Close eunff to make a 1/4mile pass and see what happens.

So leave at 2000 again shift at 7000RPM went 10.21 at 133mph with a 1.49 60ft

I was to sceered to change the VE table with out talking to Mopar Rich. So just left it alone and made a few more passes all in the 10.20's

So for the 1st time out I am purty darn happy.

I am sure with some tunning it will squeak in the
9's with ease. Car should 60ft in the low 1.30's like it did with the W9 motor.

133 MPH is rolling pretty good. My roadster goes 9.73 @ 133 with a powerglide. So I would expect you should be able in that range with all of Bob's fancy chassis work.

How do you like the fast xfi? That is what is going on my turbo 6.1. I had emailed fastmanefi a number of times about it. He's a super helpful guy!

I really like the XFI......I think I can get the car tunned to run like a 2012 Challenger. Its a little overwhelming at first. But Rich has walked me thru doing it myself for the most part.

One of the great things is the data logging. I logged dyno runs and 1/4 mile passes and then e-mailed them with my VE table to Rich he can make changes then e-mail it back to me to put that tune in the car.

That is a good start, confidence is high?

Not a bad run, the sixty foot wasn't as good as expected. But maybe some starting line technique (transbrake, stage rpm, etc. will wake that up pretty easily). I would have been pretty careful on that day. So I think you did very well being careful and the best is yet to come.

I love the new 3G Hemi.
I think it has great potential and fun for Mopar racers in the coming years.

I keep good notes, but check/add to this one. What are the basics? 426? CR, 727, gear, converter, etc.

I am very jealous...You come out of the gate with a brand new combo running just about the same ET as our pump gas big block that took us half a season to work the bugs out of.. Very nice, especially considering its a small bock.

Nice Rick! Very good numbers for the first session of hits on a completely new setup! Like with anything, more tuning will have that thing flying! Question, what does the car weigh? I hope our 5.7 carb motor lays down solid numbers as you did first out. I'm still at stage that I am flipping coin on crank stroke decision. Will be ordering internals by next week.

The car looked great as always, liked the motor paint and the black powdercoat
That thing is flying for how mild it sounds.
An easy 9sec ride
