Does anyone insure there race car - 05/03/12 03:58 AM
My insurance policy is coming due soon on 2 of my cars and thought about seeing if I could get a better rate with any place else or change the policy around for better coverage in general.
I have regular collector insurance on one car & the race car has a modified car policy. I do realize it won't be covered for an on track incident, but it just got me thinking just like most everyone else there is a lot of money tied up in these cars. So I was just curious to see how many people do insure there cars and who is the most reputably company out there. I contacted American Collectors insurance & they were twice what I pay now and got a bit of a runaround about insuring a race car, Hagerty said no way to a race car.

I also use Kincaid Insurance in Canton, Ohio. Like the last post, I have never had a claim. Give Dick a call and tell him that we said to call him.
I pay about $360 per year. It is a race car and I carry about $45,000 worth on it. It covers the car everywhere except on the racetrack itself.

http://coiservices.com/a/Contact Bill Lutz at this place. They will insure race cars and will cover on track incidents. He has a Outlaw 10.5 Camaro. You can search for info on him at YellowBullet, nothing but good things.

Mine is insured when at the house and in trailer ect , everywhere but on track through State Farm as a classic car, bout $130 a year for $30k agreed value. Then burnout box to time slip booth for an agreed value of $30k as well and running 9.0 sec et's for way less than $1k a year that is through Lloyds of London and it is way cheaper then anyone else as I have got quotes from Lutz and all the others. Been insuring this way for over 10 years.

Mine is insured everywhere except on track. I mean from the turn off to the staging lanes is covered. Stated value of $70K and covers the trailer (anywhere in the continental US), car and trailer contents. I think I pay about $700/yr, but it was costing $500/yr to just insure my trailer and that coverage sucked.

I use Horton, myself. Covers car, trailer, and tools everywhere except from the waterbox to the finish line.
Well worth the price.
