MAX Intake height for 440 67 GTX with RO23 scoop - 02/21/12 02:57 AM

Getting engine together for NSS 67 Belvedere and going through intake choices, but concerned on hood clearance. May go with the a modified to dual quad old Weiand six pack, tunnel/cross ram, p3690981.
But from the one I may buy it is 9" bottom to top.
Will it fit? I imagine the carb air cleaner lip would be even with hood? If so I am running an RO23 scoop.
Anyone have any experience with hood clearance on NSS B-bodies? I would measure my other cars but they are a bit different, valve covers have holes in the middle.

I know the Indy crossram will fit in a 63-65 B-body with the lower scoop. I would bet the 67 isn't much different. My buddys 64 Dodge has the front carb about 1/2" below the top of the hood with it.

Thanks, BTW what does the indy intake and carbs measure?
I added up the numbers and with the Weiand, and AFBs the total height would be 12 1/2" from the valley pan rail. Guess I can try and measure my other car but the hemi may be different.

I'll try to measure tomorrow. It's pretty tall.

Just took some measurements on my 67 with RO scoop on flat fiberglass lift off hood..
Indy cross ram with dual inline Eddy carbs- choke housings stock and in place.
12 1/4 inches to top of choke housing from RB pad at front of the engine.
With hood on I have approx. 1 inch above the top of choke housing to bottom inside of scoop- this is for the front carb. Rear carb fits too but very hard to get inside the hood to see the measurement.
Front opening of scoop is 2 3/4 inches at front lip that rolls under. It's actually a little taller just inside front edge then tapers down as you move towards the cowl area.
How tall is your scoop?
