BAE Hemi update

BAE Hemi update - 01/23/12 08:34 PM

Won't be long now. Just need to weld up the headers and blower tube and the car comes home for final assembly. The new PSCA rules allow us to run at 2650 pounds. This car is going to be fast.

Mel is now allowing pro mod style cars in Outlaw. Of course, they have to run the spec tire. Because of this he condescended to the 100 pound "True Outlaw" weight break. That allows us to run at 2650.

Even the most pessimistic have us running in the 6.40 range in the quarter and 4.20 in the eighth. I'm thinking about a tenth better.

Bob I have NO DOUBT it will fly. Always has always likely will. You guys will be the hitter once again after you get it sorted out, even with an "old school" outlaw car. Going to be great seeing you guys out there again. Just wish we could be out there too

Looks great but you are cheap on pictures . I think by lowering the 10.5 weights we will see mid six pro street cars jump ship to the outlaw class instead of being first round fodder in the low six to high five pro street class. This will help out the car count for outlaw and give a much needed home to many racers that want to race heads up but just refused to strap 300 pounds on there car .

Doug sends the pics and I pass them on. When the car gets back to Doug I will take a bunch and post.
You are right about what Mel has in mind. There are already at least 4 guys who will run their pro streeters in Outlaw. There are some weight penalties for the longer wheel base stuff. Outlaw out here has become car counts in the 4-6 range and something had to be done or the class will fade out. Rigby has eliminated it in the WCHRA series and the new NMRA deal is sans Outlaw too.
