NOPE, we use mostly Wix and Donaldson. i don't care for the bling and have little faith in most of their products to begin with, so no reason for me to change from what alreay works very well.

Clever idea! We cut all our filters, AND many for fellow racers, even chevy guys, it has been a real eye opener, and engine saver several times .........i don't mind investing in one, I have had very good experiences with source products.

Billet Aluminum Oil Filter - ReUsable
Our new billet aluminum reusable oil filter will last a lifetime. Never buy another oil filter again. The two piece housing unscrews to reveal a washable filter element of finely woven stainless steel mesh. These fiter all particles down to 45 microns, and should be washed every 3000 miles. Also features full o-ring seals and integral magnet to trap any large particles (great for inspection during cleaning.) A super nice product now available at a fraction of the price of similiar units on the market. Click on "View additional images" button to see more pictures of the filter element, etc.

45 micron filter? Might as well use a screen door IMHO.

I like the system one oil filter. Around here if you want a good oil filter you have to order it. There are several that make Hi Quality oil filters and for most the time thats what you get when you buy them. But we know there is always room for error, mistakes are made from time-time.So every time you replace one of those throw away oil filters with another, you have to hope you are not getting a defected filter that slipped past Quality Control.

That is a Tru-Filter, looks exactly like the one that I have used in the past( I think it is in the top of the garage now), I only used it to check for debris after firing up a new motor, after that I went to the wix filter that is badged as Car Quest Racing, when I do another motor I will get it back out for the first few changes, saves wasting a perfectly good expensive filter.
