I dunno but that inner headlight delete grille is pretty cool!

Re: How much does your B-Body weigh? - 01/12/12 02:36 PM

My '69 road runner weighed 3510 w/o me in it.
That was all steel...including hood and bumpers, full stock interior, power steering, all iron big block, factory a/c and heater box under the dash, and steel 14" road wheels. Basically a bone stock road runner w/ a 383.

Should be significantly lighter when it comes back out.

just by going what I have so far...I doubt if my 63 is 1200-1400lbs totally empty..adding the rear suspension and 9", maybe another 200lbs at the most

engine and trans maybe 700-800lbs wet..the cage will be all CM so maybe another 150-200lbs and maybe another 150 with the alterKtion and Wildwood brakes...toss another 150 for wheels and tires...

so anywhere from 2600-2800 lbs...

the front end is acid dipped, I'll be using fiberglass bumpers and hood...stock glass and 2 light weight buckets...

since I havent weighed it, its all speculation, but I doubt if Im far off..Im having trouble deciding on what coil weight I should get..I have the Hyper-Coils that are 170lb rated and I know they are way to stiff...I think I need 900-1000 lb rated coils...

so I doubt if I have 950lbs over the rear when finished...

Looks to be about a 500LB variation give or take. Hard to believe that that much extra weight is floating around in some of these cars.

Re: How much does your B-Body weigh? - 01/14/12 07:37 PM

My 63 Polara hardtop was a touch under 3400# with a 440 and a PB automatic.
Basically a stock car with a bench seat, steel wheels w/ poverty caps, and a spare in trunk.
Only weight related mods were an alum intake, headers, and radio delete, so a few lbs off there, but not much.
Car was from Cali, so it had no undercoating and such. Oh, and it was 4 wheel drum brakes
My buddy and I weighed our cars at the same time and his 70 camaro with a small block weighed 50# more than mine, would have never guessed that.
