My new X275 2011 Challenger Body - 01/10/12 09:49 PM

Here is my new X275 Challenger as it sits before it heads to get the new 25.3 chassis and Dragpak upgrades. What do you guys think? I like it except for the moon roof.

What kind of rear suspension will you be running? Drag Pak (they're a 4 link right)? Are you running your W8 turbo engine?

Re: My new X275 2011 Challenger Body - 01/10/12 09:53 PM

I love the color scheme. A functioning moon roof in a X275 would be a really cool feature. What type of wheel are you going to use? Are you going to change the hood?

Why change the wheels I kinda dig the 4 skinny donut tires. lol

Re: My new X275 2011 Challenger Body - 01/10/12 09:58 PM

It will be getting a 9" rear with 40 spline gundrilled axles, Weld V-Series wheels, A full front and rear Dragpak suspension, rear wing, Carbonfiber hood(cowl), All aluminum Billet headed R4/P5 turbo engine and a glide. It will be killer when done. The side stripes will be replaced with custom graphics....

Those tires look so funny on there. ha!

I love it, it will certainly stick out in a sea of X275 Mustangs.

No it was stolen and stripped of motor, tranny, front seats, and the stereo. Just happened to be all the items I did not need. I guess they did get the wheels and tires as well.

Are you using the MBE P5's, and what kind of power will you be making, versus what the fOrD and cHeVy guys make? Do you think the car will be competitive enough to run at the top of X275? I think it's awesome you're doing a 275 Mopar in a Mopar body style versus a Fox mustang, which seems to have a lock on all things stock suspension (x275 is a stock suspension class right?)

That is perfect much better than a body in white where you have to find everything interior wise

And alot cheaper as well. I got it for 10K. And do I think it will be competitive? It will be the biggest waste of 100K if its not. It will make every ounce of power an 88 mm turbo can support. It will take alot of testing to get it where it needs to be of course. I will be looking for someone on the East Coast to run it at venues which I will not be able to attend. I will probably have Jason Lee drive it when he is not running his mustang until we get it dialed in.

Re: My new X275 2011 Challenger Body - 01/10/12 11:03 PM

I would stick with the wheels that are on it. You will get good wheel speed at the hit.

I was planning on doing a Challenger like this, but, with a twin turbo Hemi. I may sit back, and enjoy your build for a little bit........while saving tons of $$$$$$

Good luck man, If there is anything that I could ever do to help, let me know.

It was going to be Mike Roth but I was able to strike a good deal with B and B Racecars. They do alot of small tire projects as well as Dragpaks..

Chris I figured after you sold the barracuda to Al, you would build two new Challengers. Lol. Yes I would wait til this is done so you will have an idea of race weight. It will have to go on a serious diet. Going to try and get it under 3000# . We shall see.

That will be top shelf if B&B is doing it. Roth would have been just as good also though.

Marty...Good luck with it. I know when it is done it will be done right just like all your cars have been. Cant wait to see the finished product. Oh yeah not gonna be building any new challengers or any other top nothc car for what I gave Chris for his. Trust me I have built a bunch of cars over the years and it is always cheaper to buy than build. But you already knew that

It will definitely be in Georgia this fall if all goes well. The engine will take longer than the car. I need Hans to get on the ball.. Since its in his court now. The W8 will be fitted in as well for local rules.

That's gonna be one bad ride!! I agree w/ the keep it stock looking w/ no grapics. I'm sure it'll be nice when you're done, just like your Duster!

I just hope it won't be like some of the other high profile builds on here that get sold off right after they're completed never to be seen again.

The graphics will not be elaborate but just different than the stock graphics. The hood stripes will be redesigned. I think everyone will like it.

Is this the car you bought? http://www.racingjunk.com/1960-1979/2434618/2011-DODGE-CHALLENGER-RT-NO-MOTOR-OR-TRANS.html

A way better starting point than a body in white.

Re: My new X275 2011 Challenger Body(UPDATE) - 06/27/12 10:02 PM

Well B and B sent me some more photos of the progress. Car is moving along. Engine leaves next week from VED in Michigan to B and B in Tennessee to be mated upo to the tranny and fitted into the car for headers. They asked me not to share the photos publically sinceits going to be a "state of the art" Promod chassis. lol. I am sure i will be able to share some of the pics from later in the build. Sorry guys!

Well B&B builds a kick a$$ car for sure. So I am sure it will be over the top, like thier Comp and SS cars are.
