Yes ,Lickity Split is making progress - 12/29/11 05:43 PM

This is the 1st time in 30 years I've had the week off after Christmas. I've got the wiring done. Dash and column are in. Finished up the gauge mounting. Got the plastic dash parts back but they need the accent paint. Fabbed up a couple of fender brackets for the lower front corners. I'm working on the fire system today. Pics later today.

How's Len's car coming? I just looked at the tail panel trim I have for it. I'll stop by the shop one night after work.

Its all apart and ready for the body shop. We want to put a diffent k member in it cause that one is bent and dont want it to affect the readings on the frame rack. I thought I had a spare but we need to go get one.

It will be out in the spring. The dash required an oversize slot for the roll cage. Here's the revised dash molding to cover the hole.

Cage also required relocating the shifter to the right side of the dash. Reverse pattern valve body so you know I had to change the buttons. I removed the outer chrome trim from the buttons, cut them in half and glued them back together.

Fabbed a gauge panel to mount the gauges in the original spots in the dash. Then made a new bezel for the shifter. Cut apart the left shift delete bezel to ad a 5th gauge.
I still have to paint the silver trim in the bezels.

After all the fires I've seen this year I purchased a fire system. I fabbed the nozzle brackets for the engine compartment. a 3rd nozzle is below the dash.

I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of little fab projects still to go. The motor and trans are ready to be assembled. All the clearances have been checked and every thing is machined. Just need to paint the parts and trim the intake to fit. And no the water pump won't be purple.

I turned a piece of round aluminum 1.375"x.500". Drilled and tapped it for 3/8-24. Welded the original spacer that came with the tach mount to the top. The 2nd part is 2.50x1.375x.125 I bent it at about a 30 degrees. The flat support needs some gussets welded as it is to flexible.
