Going to bone yard looking for a steering box for my 2001 ram van, what years will interchange? New are junk

go to mopar parts giant to look up the part numbers for before and after app or go to napa web site and punch in your app and look at buyers guide towards the bottom of page.

napa says 1999-2003 1500/2500/3500 van

Your era van should be 1998-2003

I wonder if the guts are the same just different mounting? They all are Saginaw

Just a heads up the shaft connecting the column to the box is a known problem part. It will wear and cause lots of slop. Pull the one you get the box from if it is good as they are not available new OEM or AM.
