2012 Jeep Patriot Locked up (Update) - 04/21/22 09:46 PM

My 2012 Jeep Patriot 4x4 was running very good for two hours on the highway. I got off the exit ramp and then stopped at the end of ramp. The car started to sound like I was on the rumble strips.
I continued for 1 mile and stopped at the light. Now the car will not move. First it feels like the brakes are locked up or transmission. I get towed to my house and the car roles off the flatbed with no problem
Get in the car and start it up trying to go forward and its locked up, so I think transmission is locked up. Any ideas, maybe a solenoid or wires. Anyone has this problem CVT Trans.
Updated
Now I have a different take on this. Could be the Brake wheel sensor locking the brakes up. With car not running it does roll but once started and put in gear it wants to move but feels locked up.
Anyway to bypass speed sensors?

Wondering if a brake hose is collapsed. You would smell the brakes burning. Master cylinder will push fluid out but there is nothing to return it. Can you mess with the shifter to get any change? Any MIL on?

We had CVT transmissions stacked up like cord wood back in that era….. a lot of dealers did including Nissan and bmw.

If the problem was a brake hose, it would still have been locked up when it was time to roll off the flatbed that hauled it home. He said it rolled off the flatbed without a problem.

Isn't there a switch that has to be activated when the brake pedal is pushed, before the brakes are leased when the trans is put in gear? Our 04 PT, you have to step on the brake pedal to allow the brakes to be released when the trans is put in drive or reverse. Could that switch could be bad?

time to get to work. put car on jack stands. engine off. put in neutral and see if all wheels turn. if so, put someone in car as the driver. start eng in neutral, foot off the brake pedal. walk around and see if any wheel locked up. if not, start engine and put in gear with someone in seat and ready to shut engine off. let foot off brake pedal and see what wheels are turning. the one not turning or locked up is problem. simple.

Is there any codes? If there is I would address them first.
